So I’m counting this as August’s kitsuke, and my last post as September’s, since I totally forgot to wear kimono last month! Not to worry though, I have a special idea in mind for Halloween (more on that later).
So me and Choutama no kimono went to Otakon this year! (Well, more like she messaged me on facebook telling me I was going to go…..just two weeks before the event haha!)
We went with her boyfriend, and dressed up as Code Geass characters. For our first time cosplaying, I think we did a pretty good job. We had people fangirl over us lol. For a while, we couldn’t go anywhere because literally every 5 seconds someone asked for a picture, and then as we turned to get our bags, another person asked for a picture…until we literally had groups of people surrounding us. I think it took us 10 minutes to walk down a single hallway at one point! I was Kallen/Karen, Chou was C.C., and her boyfriend was Zero/Lelouch.
Chou looked amazing:
Oh, and I got kidnapped by Deadpool haha. 😛
We also met up with a Code Geass group photo shoot!
The day before, we met up with 光着物 Hikari Kimono and a few other friends. It was a bit of a trial finding parking though, we ended up paying a guy who “owned” the parking lot, and was sitting in a lawn chair guarding the entrance haha…But, it was worth it! I was so excited to go out with them! They’re really wonderful to hang out with. The restaurant we went to is Matsuri, and they had a pretty nice upstairs room where we sat and talked for hours.
They had a kimono panel the day of the con, but unfortunately, I was unable to attend since my heels from my costume had given me such bad blisters that I needed help walking…T_T
The next day me and my friend went and hung around. I wore a kimono version of my character. (Which is hilarious because she definitely wouldn’t wear such a girly outfit..but it’s what I had brought with me!) I still got recognized as my character though!

Which brings us back to present-day. I’ve got something planned for Halloween involving several people, and well, let’s just say that it’s going to involve kimono and this:
