September Stripe

I was planning on wearing kimono for my birthday last week, but I ended up changing my mind and wore it this week instead. 🙂

Since this is the last time I’ll wear hitoe this year, I decided I wanted to wear my usumono stripe kimono and newspaper print hanhaba obi. Oh, and yes, I dyed my hair darker for winter. I’m more of a burgundy brunette now than a redhead lol.

I tried my hand at tying a kai-no-kuchi musubi variant for the obi. This is one of my favorite obi. It has old newspaper clippings printed on it in white, black and red!

My eyeshadow and lipstick match the colors of the egyptian necklace that I wore with this outfit.

    Happy Birthday!
    Very modern coordination and cute.

I finally found a way to add the link to your blog on my blog.
Last weekend, I went to Kyoto and I saw Maiko-san walking on a street with maybe, her client. I will upload her picture in my blog, soon!!

    1. Thank you! 🙂

Oh, how cool! I really want to go see maiko-san one day in Kyoto (it is a dream of mine especially to meet one particular geiko-san named Koyou-san) I can’t wait to read about it on your blog!

  2. I love stripes!! This red stripes kimono suites you very well. I’m happy to see you wearing kimono regularly.

    1. To tell the truth, I probably have too many kimono with a stripe pattern haha 😉

Thank you! It was my goal this year and last year to wear kimono once a month. Hopefully I can make it to December and complete my goal of wearing kimono once a month for 24 months!

I see on your blog that you have been having a lot of fun in the sand. I miss the beach very much, I wish I still lived by the ocean!

Actually, I think my favourite part of this outfit is… how the haneri pairs with that necklace! >D I had a teal Egyptian necklace similar to it many years ago, seven strands of awesomeness. I don’t remember what happened to it! It was so, so long ago… but I wouldn’t have thought to wear it with kimono.

    1. Aw, well I hope that you can find your necklace someday! I love the Egyptian necklace style, it’s so cool and chic. I just had to try it out. Glad that you like it!
