Yesterday, the Immortal Geisha forums officially launched their latest project, the IG Wiki!
This is a wiki which will hold all of the information which can be found on the IG forums, and make that information available to the public. From the meaning behind traditional motifs found on kimono, to background information on individual maiko and geisha, to the Japanese system of counting years, and to the practices concerning kabuki makeup, this wiki will have it all! It covers very neatly all the collective knowledge that has been spread out over the forums for several years. I am very proud to have been a part of the team which has started to work on this massive project.
This wiki is a work in progress, and only been in existence for a few weeks, so there are many articles which are still in the writing stages, (or have yet to be written) so you’ll have to be forgiving of that. Once an article has been completed though, it is being translated into different languages, so the information can be accessed and spread worldwide! Currently, the three languages which the wiki articles are in/being translated into are English, Spanish, and Polish.
You can view the wiki here. (You can also read the featured picture article on the geiko Koyou-san, written by yours truly. 😉 By the way, if anyone has information concerning her, I’d love it if you messaged me/commented! I don’t have very much information beyond the basics.)
