Love Makes the World Go ‘Round.

The auctions were a roaring success! ā¤

I would like to thank everyone who commented, shared, spread the word and bid on my kimono auctions! In total, we were able to raise exactly $119 USD to send to GlobalGiving‘s “Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Relief Fund”!!! It may not seem like a lot, but every bit counts, and those that bid did a good deed by helping out the people of Japan in their time of need. ^^ I’m so glad that we were able to make a difference.

Thanks to everyone who helped!

On a related note, I received an email in my inbox the other day. The winning bidder of the red kimono and headphone obi ensemble, IG forum member yohmama-san, gave me a wonderful surprise. Below is an excerpt from her message:

“I am very happy that I won the outfit on ebay. I am hoping that it arrives this week so that I can wear the obi at the anime convention that I am selling at this weekend.
However, if you will send me your address, I plan to send the obi back to you afterwards. It looks so cool on you, and I’d love to see you wear it again with another fabulous outfit. I just love your style…And I know how much you like it. I won it on purpose so I could return it to you.”

I was extremely touched. It had indeed been hard to part with the headphone obi, but I felt that I would be okay with doing it since it was for a good cause. To think that someone would actually buy it simply so that they could give it back to me….I can’t express with words how wonderful and generous she is. I was truly speechless when I read her email. Thank you so very much, yohmama-san!!! You are truly a generous soul.

And I expect to see pictures of you wearing the obi šŸ˜‰

That is so amazing! It’s the things like this that really make me proud to be a part of the little family that is IG.

    1. I know! I truly feel as if I am part of a family there. You think something like this wouldn’t ever happen to you, but then someone is truly generous beyond your belief and goes out and proves you wrong.
